ON TEACHING/LEARNING:
I taught design at Kendall College of Art and Design for a few years. That was a highly useful experience. Students remind me that at one point we were designing from a very fresh place, unaware of many of the realities of manufacturing and cost. To me, this is another key moment when balance is essential. A designer must keep the freshness of a wide-eyed student while factoring in the mandates of costing, material constraints and viability.
