ON EXPERIENCE DESIGN:
Experience design (commonly called UX or User Experience) is a relatively new name for a discipline that has been practiced for centuries. The idea is simple; design an environment in which people are comfortable and well cared for so a message can be delivered or a purpose can be accomplished. Putting this discipline into action is not so simple. Designing experience requires a great deal of empathy from the designer. Showroom and event design are the primary ways I’ve practiced experience design. I think people are eager to engage with companies who value the kind of comprehensive need-meeting that comes from a singular vision applied across brand, product and user experience.
